Who is Clisby?
A Local Hero
Austin Clisby was a minister, farmer and small merchant who moved to Tunnel Hill in 1845. Clisby was a very religious man, a lifelong Methodist, and during his time at Tunnel Hill he was able to grow his farm to 320 acres. His property went on to be used in the Civil War as a hospital during the battle of Chickamauga. We strive to pay homage to this local hero with our property and celebrate the community of Tunnel Hill.
